I would like to take this opportunity to say welcome to the new Rotary Year, 2025-2026. Rotary Inverloch will again this year support its local community. We look forward to meeting with you at one of our many activities and events. We wold welcome you to join the club or even just lend a hand at one of the many things we do.
In September, we have a very special speaker in Dorothy Gilmore, who is the founder of Safe Families. Their focus is on primary prevention. It aims to change the attitudes and behaviours that drive abuse by increasing and improving gender equality and respect in all aspects of everyday life. They challenge Government, women and men, boys and girls to change the structures, norms, practices, attitudes and behaviours that cause this abuse by challenging its underlying drivers – gender inequality and disrespect for women and each other.
Please come along and invite your friends and colleagues.
On Wednesday 30th July we held a special meeting. This meeting was our changeover from Rotary year 2024-2025, The Magic of Rotary to the Rotary year 2025-2026, Unite for Good.
Past District Governor Linda Humphries was the MC for the night. 20 members, family and friends were in attendance for the evening.
2024-2025 President Pat Barry provided everyone with an update of the years activities. The club had been busy working in the community. Membership has grown by 6 members. Great social activities. We held our markets, supported the Bass Coast Cycle Challenge, our annual raffle and so much more. We many many great speakers organised by Rod H. For a small club, we were able to support projects, locally, nationally and internationally, to the tune of about $22000.00. What an outstanding effort.
President Pat, also recognised two of our club members with a Paul Harris Fellow recognition. Past President Tilly with a PHF +1 sapphire and Past President Rod with a PHF +2 sapphire. Congratulations Rod and Tilly for this prestigous recognition.
Past District Governor Mark then presided over the Presidential changeover. Mark talks about the importance of recognising the role of the President within a club. Mark thanked Pat on behalf of Rotary Zone 8 and the pilot program. Past District Governor Mark then performed the induction of the new President. President Pat Barry. Pat was willing to take on the role of President for a second term. Congratulations, President Pat.
President Pat, then presented his board to the club for the Rotary year 2025-2026

Please invite your friend and Neighbours.
‘Rotary SAFE Families’ has evolved into a national program with valuable resources and tools including images and short films to assist every Rotarian in every part of Australia to play their part in stopping abuse in families everywhere.
Now, with an active website and the Rotary Ambassador Club Program in place, Rotary Clubs around Australia are signing up to promote the program's powerful messages to their communities. We must – all of us – take some responsibility for stopping abuse in Australia by the three “Rs”:
Recognising the signs
Raising our concerns whenever they arise
Referring to the right agency for support.
Rotary SAFE Families has become a significant tool for a national collective voice rather than a single voice to stop family violence in our communities.
Rotary SAFE Families has been created by two Rotarians who want to make a positive difference to the world by the prevention of family abuse: Abuse to women, children, men and our elderly.
Rotary will be assisting again this year. If you would like to assist please do not hesitate to contact us.
